I could get a bit dramatic and say Grease Monkey was “two and a half years in the making.”
Which I guess is technically true, but not really. The middle scene (out now at Titanmen) was shot back in August of 2012. I know this because the moment we finished shooting that scene, Rogue Status headed directly to the airport to go to Burning Man.
The scene (which was Warrick Cade’s first and so far only for Titanmen) sat around in the queue waiting to be included as part of a motorcycle-themed movie I had planned and… it continued to sit around, waiting for the other two scenes to be shot. Finding porn stars who can ride was an issue, so was finding the proper locations. I also wasn’t able to find a hot man with long blond hair so my “Kind of like Sons of Anarchy” thing didn’t really go anywhere. Then Men.com put out their.. um… “parody” movie Men Of Anarchy, and I decided to ditch the idea entirely.
This meant I had a motorcycle mechanic scene shot without a movie to put it in.
Fast forward to last November when Eddy CeeTee came to shoot with me and I decided that my orphaned motorcycle scene could maybe be resurrected. I shot a truck mechanic scene with Eddy and Nick Capra along with a scene featuring Nick Prescott and Mike De Marko coming out next week and I had my Grease Monkey movie.
Another fun aside… Grease Monkey was originally just a working title that I put onto my release schedule, thinking that we’d come up with something better when the time came to release it. We never did and the name stuck.
